Greetings:
I wanted to post a brief update to ask for your prayers tomorrow, Tuesday, November 25th, at 10:30 AM. We have two appointments tomorrow, beginning with the 34-week ultrasound with the perinatologist, and afterwards, with the obstetrician.
We are, at the same time, both excited and nervous. We are excited that in a few short weeks, we will get to welcome our baby girl into the world. Given that the screening indicated our baby is at high risk for Trisomy 13, we are also nervous.
We understand that there is a much higher risk of stillbirth in babies with serious genetic abnormalities. We are not sure that the exact cause of these stillbirths are known, but we have been told that this is the case, which is why our perinatologist wants to ensure that we are induced around December 30th.
For tomorrow, we’d appreciate it very much if you would pray for wisdom for our doctors as they plan the way forward for the birth of our baby girl. We also ask that you pray that we will be able to carry our baby to full term, and that she will arrive healthy, and free of Trisomy 13. We are still very encouraged by all of the good reports we’ve received at our visits, and are are confident that God is hearing our prayers. We are trusting in His goodness, and know that no matter the outcome, He will bring glory to Himself through this trial.
We can’t thank you enough for the support and encouragement that each of you has been over these last several months. Though it has not been an easy road, we are experiencing the sustaining grace of God during this trial.
We say this often, and we really do mean it… It would be our privilege to pray for you. Please let us know of any requests that you have, so that we can agree with you in prayer.
