Prayer Request – Week-36 Ultrasound

Greetings,

We apologize that we did not get this blog out sooner.  We have been crazy busy preparing for our sweet baby girl’s arrival.

Our crib and dresser for the nursery arrived this week and our baby girl’s room is starting to come together.  We also purchased her car seat this week along with a few outfits.  I am so happy we have a way to bring her home from the hospital now.

The week-35 ultrasound with the perinatologist went well.  Our baby girl was rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand and playing with her toes.  They did not weigh her last week, but plan to weigh her this week.  The perinatologist said it was another reassuring ultrasound.  However, she did caution us again that, although all the ultrasounds have looked so good, we still have the Panorama blood test hanging over our heads and need to be prepared. She still recommends that we induce at week 39 to be on the safe side since some babies with trisomies just suddenly pass away near the due date.  The plan is to continue to monitor her twice a week.  Please pray for complete healing of our baby girl.

Last Friday’s appointment with the obstetrician also went well.  He did a non-stress test and the baby’s heart looked strong.  As of now, we have set the birth date for December 29th to be induced.  This is the first day of the 39th week.  In the meantime, our baby will continue to be monitored in case we need to induce sooner or later then the 29th.   Please pray for wisdom for the doctors and that God will bring her to us in His perfect timing.

Santa_PBEWe have continued to mark this journey by making memories with our baby girl along the way, and today we took our baby girl to see Santa!

Today, Monday, December 8th at 10:00 am we have our week-36 ultrasound with the perinatologist, and our OB appointment on Friday, December 12th at 10:45 am.  We would greatly appreciate your prayers for wisdom for the doctors and another normal ultrasound and non-stress test. If all goes well, we will update the blog next weekend after the OB appointment.

Throughout this journey, God has been so kind to bless us with His sustaining grace, and the love and support of all of you who are faithful to carry us in your hearts. Every single day, and in every single prayer, we have asked God to heal our baby. We are not certain whether God will choose to heal our baby this side of eternity, but we are certain about God, and we know that He is good – all the time.

Thank you again for praying for us and please let us know how we can pray for you.
